so today was my day off, which was the ONLY day off this week, and I got called in because they couldn't figure out how to put one of the peices to fit on the roller machine. which of course everyone has trouble with (except me). so I went in to work which takes about twenty minutes to get there, just to put a single pieve onto a machine. ::sigh:: one thing I will say, my job keeps me on my toes. :p :p :p tonight is the reel-films bible study related movie night. we will be showing Evan Almighty. should be interesting. not sure if alot of the usual people will come, mainly cause we didn't send out our usual notification about it. its okay though, I text messaged everyone. wish us luck. |

| letter from Dan Klem |
[Aug. 16th, 2007|08:35 pm] |
Blessings! I need some added support from my brothers and sisters! God has called me to spend some time outside of Las Vegas with a youth group called The Edge. The only downside is I need a little help getting there. The obvious need is prayer. I have been asked to spend a little time getting to know the kids their and help them grow with God. They have 95 kids in their youth group. I would also be spending this time in a place where I only know a handful of people and would need to rely on them to get me through and around town. Also, I need a couple hundred dollars. That is it. If you would be willing to help me out in any way, it would be much appreciated. I am still in Arizona as I type this, so if you are willing to bless me financially, get anything to my mom, Lorrie Klem, at 9 Sunshine Court, Bloomington, IL 61704. Include a note that it is for me. She will make sure I get the money. A few updates, since I have your attention: 1) A summer working at United Christian Youth Camp has been amazing; illuminating, encouraging, burning (spiritually on this one), and a blessing! I thank all of you who prayed for me while I was out here. It really helped! 2) The book of poetry I wrote, "simple words for God from a simple man of God" by daniel m klem, is not only available at www.PublishAmerica.com, but I found out on Monday, August 13, that Spring Arbor, the Christian division of Ingram book distributors (and the second largest Christian book distributor), has picked it up for distribution! 3) I have been asked if next June I would be willing to go backpacking in the Himalayas to distribute Bibles for a month. I will have more details later, but it would be an amazing experience to reach out to Muslims and see one more part of the world. It would also cost around $3275 to go. That is about what I have to say for now (in a brief message). I love you! I am praying for you! Blessings and peace in our Lord! Daniel |

so I dropped my mom off at the automotives, and aked the guy there if he could check my car later in the week. I gave him my number and info like that. There was one girl there waiting for her car to be finished as well, and overheard me giving out my number, so he just happened to remember it. she started text messaging me and asked her to take my number off her list. that's just kinda creepy. |

| my week. |
[Jun. 16th, 2007|07:59 pm] |
I just wanted to write about the stuff that happened this week. It seems I don’t usually update much on what goes on anymore. Mostly because it’s the same stuff day in and day out, and a big part of me likes it that way.
Anyways, I’ll start off with Sunday. The new addition of the Eastview wing looks awesome. It does seem like they didn’t have to go to that extreme to make a new gym/church congregation, but it’s cool nonetheless. They could’ve just built a huge wooden shack and it still’ve been a church. After Fuel was the barn dance at this one guy’s place. It was fun, and I could tell everyone else was having a good time, too. Yaay ping-pong!
On Monday, I went back to Eastview cause Mandy set up an event to play volleyball. I haven’t played in so long and I love the game, so of course I went. Dave Whaley came too, but just to watch cause he can’t do a lot of activity. Mandy and Jen showed up, but they were the only ones, so volleyball was canceled. Ohh well, stuff happens, sorry it didn’t turn out. So Dave and I went bowling and I set my new high score of a whopping 162. Go me!
On Wednesday, did my usual bowling with Lonnie, Joe, Chris, and Annie. Annie almost beat me on the last game, it was awesome. I was a little sad cause Jen wasn’t there. Turned out she hurt her ankle at the WindJammer last week. She stepped into a hole and it was dark outside. That was also the day that they said a huge storm was coming, so I didn’t go that time. Sorry. She’ll most likely come back to work by next Wednesday, and I’ll be happy to see her.
On Thursday, went to Jeremiah’s to hang out with him and his girlfriend Sandra. We watched Saw 3 and Wicked Little Things. The latter was just kinda funny cause Jeremiah and I kept making fun of it. In the movie, there’s a mom and two daughters that go to an old house she inherited. But in the mountains a bunch of kids died in the coal mines and as an act of revenge turned into zombies. Anyways, the youngest daughter is holding an old doll and the Mother asks where she got it. Then I said, “Mary gave it me” in a girl’s voice. Then the daughter said the exact same thing, which excited and freaked me out at the same time. It was just one of those totally predictable horror movies.
Yesterday I tried to get some friends together to see Fantastic Four. I ended up going by myself as usual, but actually I don’t mind it that much. Actually, the one that I went to, I ran into three old church friends so it worked out better than expected. Sometimes its strange yet comforting that you’re never alone, and that you always find good company, even if it wasn’t the kind you expected to find. The movie was really good. We talked for a bit afterwards, and went home.
Worked this morning with Sam. We had to make extra doughs yesterday and today because of the special Olympics going on. We ate there after work and just hung out. The table next to us had a bunch of people that had already been in the special Olympics yesterday. One of the guys looked at me, so I made eye contact. He said hi, so I say said hi. Then he showed me his ribbon and medal that he won yesterday. I didn’t try to ignore him, in fact, I made an effort to keep the conversation going before they all had to leave. One of the ladies that escorted them turned to me and said thank you, probably just for taking an interest in the guy’s achievements. I don’t usually try to brighten up someone’s day just by talking or listening to them.
Anyways, that’s my week in a nutshell. I’ll be at Fuel tomorrow to see everyone again, and maybe try to make another new friend I did with Landre a couple weeks ago. I just have to do more than, “hi, I’m Dave, what’s your name?” I know it doesn’t sound that hard, and truthfully its not. It’s just how it usually goes at Fuel. After all, you only get a whole five minutes to meet-and-greet, and you can’t make an instant friend from just doing that.
ohh yeah, I get to see Nichole tomorrow in the morning. After that, she'll be gone all next week, and I will be saddened. every time I see her she says she loves me and it brightens my day. |

| eventful week. |
[May. 22nd, 2007|11:16 pm] |
Okay, starting with last Saturday. I volunteered to help Justin with the Drunk Bus, so I drove over there and we waited for one of his roommates to come back with pizza. Justin had to do a few things before we were gonna go, and his roommate parked behind me, so I had him switch parking spots with me. I waited for Justin to come downstairs, and he calls me from upstairs seeing if I left or not. Then he explains to me that he’s just too tired to do the Drunk Bus that night, so I pretty much drove there and back home for nothing. Oh well, though. On Monday, Matt’s boss called him up seeing if he could work that night, so he left. He called me up a while after that, asking if me and my mom could meet up with him and drive him to the hospital. Basically what happened was his back door popped opened while driving, so he pulled over and shut the door, taking his middle finger with it. Okay, It’s not as bad as it sounds, really. It just got stuck and he got a huge cut in his finger. As we got there to get him, these two guys were already there helping him by wrapping his finger with a shirt. We brought an ice-pack for him. As the two guys left, one of them threw their beer bottles onto the side of the road. Despite the fact that they were obviously drinking, they were nice enough to be the only ones to help Matt out. So we went to the hospital, and Matt has a big bandage around his middle finger.
On Tuesday, (today) I went bowling cause I was bored and met up with Lonnie. We talked for a bit and he had to leave. The cool thing was that two of my co-workers, Kurt and Sarah, showed up at the same time I did, so we put our two lanes next to each other. I waited till 10:00 to talk with Jennifer a bit before heading home. Last week Jen invited me to karaoke at the Windjammer. That bar is still one of the few that allows smoking, and I swear almost every person there was smoking up a storm. I was only there for a few hours and woke up the next morning with cottonmouth and a dry throat. And yes, I did one karaoke song. |

| long two days... |
[Apr. 15th, 2007|06:10 pm] |
so yesterday, I went to work, got home and only spent less than an hour there when Jeremiah calls me up. He was supposed to call me, but I didn't expect it to be that soon. So I go over there, and we both go to Home Depot to pick up their rental truck. While there, I met with two girls that I knew in the past; one who used to go to Fuel, and the other that used to work at the pretzel place at the mall. Anyways, we get the truck and go to the furniture store to pick up a huge chair that Jeremiah bought, and took it over to his new apartment where he will soon be moving to. The whole way we talked about the most random stuff. it was hilarious. Then we went back to his other apartment and watched a movie before I had to go back to work at 5. Left work at 8:30, went home finally, and crashed around some late hour.
Today, went to work, then went to the Interstate Center because the quilt show was going on and I had my egyptian quilt entered into the show. No, I didn't win. After the show ended, I helped my mom and a bunch of other people tear down everything because I volunteered. I just got home to check e-mail and my livejournal, myspace, and facebook. Now, I'm gonna get ready to go to Fuel, and after that go to Game Night with Jeremiah and James. |

| friend's house. |
[Apr. 4th, 2007|11:07 pm] |
so I went to Joe's house with Lonnie and Ryan. we had dinner (I had dinner AGAIN cause I already ate at Buffalo Wild Wings with my mom, and tried to explain that to everyone but it was no use). we had fish, salad, and Lonnie brought over some homemade orange sherbert. yummy. We actually didn't watch Borat (thank God). Instead we saw Son in Law. Yaay Paulie Shore! half the time I was watching the movie I was also playing Tetris on my phone and texting Jenna. I was still paying attention to the movie though, darn it! |

| Christmas... |
[Dec. 25th, 2006|05:04 pm] |
So for Christmas I got: - two long sleeve shirts - a reversible vest that looks like the one from Back to the Future - a clippers set for when I cut my own hair - a Nightmare Before Christmas clock from Dan - a Cable comic book from Special. Thanks Special! - my LG CU500 cell phone that I got a month ago from my mom - Fearless DVD from my brother
I got my brother a gift card that works like a debit card anywhere. I got my mom a gift card to Hancock Fabrics, and a walking stick. I can explain that one. On my birthday my family went to Starved Rock. While there, my mom said she wanted me to pick out a tree limb of her choice, and wanted me to make it look nice and give it to her as a Christmas present. So, I cut off all the bark, sawed off every limb and sand papered the whole thing down. Then I woodburned quilt patters over the entire staff, and finally varnished it and drilled a hole at the top to put the handle through. needless to say it took a while. I hope Special got her gift in time. That's pretty much all the people I got gifts for. I got James a six-pack of Guiness, but that's also because he installed my new stereo. Merry Christmas to all. Ohh yeah, if your offended by me saying Merry Christmas and want me say Happy Holidays,
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! |
